HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi, 汉语水平考试) is an internationally aknowledged test which certifies the level of Chinese as a foreign language. The obtained "HSK level" has a particular significance in the academic sector (foreigners wishing to attend a Chinese university) as well as in job applications.
In other words : TOEFL for English, DELE for Spanish, HSK for Chinese.
This edition contains all words reuired for HSK levels 1-4 (i.e. levels A1, A2, B1 and B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Language Learning and Teaching (CEF)). Han Trainer HSK Edition will be available from fall 2010 and contain aprox. 1200 words.

Products of the Han Trainer HSK line are ideally suited if you are preparing for an HSK exam and support the new, revised HSK structure , which .
Taking that HSK-Examen makes sense for everyone who is aiming at a professional or academic carreer in China or who wants to have his level of Chinese certified by an internationally acknowledged certificate.
**For technical reasons, the (printed) Han Trainer Flashcards only contain the 600 words of HSK levels 1,2 and 3; all other products contain all 1200 word of HSK levels 1,2,3 and 4.
Alternatives:
If you are using another text book or if you want to build up your vocabulary independently from existing text books or teaching material, you should try our products of the Han Trainer Theme Edition line:
- 1200 words for practical use - divided up into 60 theme based lessons
- independent from any teaching material - therefore compatible with each course
- applicable also as a supplement to Han Trainer Practical Chinese Reader Edition products, as to a large extent different vocabulary.
If you are studying with the teaching book “Practical Chinese Reader”, we recommend using products of the Han Trainer Practical Chinese Reader Edition line.
